NE Florida Artists featured in TH Galleries

by David Ouellette
by Jennifer Tallerico
Thrasher-Horne Center Galleries will be exhibiting the works of two local artists: David Ouellette and Jennifer Tallerico.  Both of these Northeast Florida artists use a unique stylistic approach to examine the greater meaning in the everyday aspects of life.

David Ouellette’s exhibit: Watercolors & Oils is a selection of abstract paintings which use both watercolor and oil mediums to explore the range of human experience.  Mr. Ouellette finds inspiration in the more tangible world of the physical environment, the ethereal time of the past, and the potential of the future.  After a 26-year tenure as an artist and professor at the Florida School of the Arts, Mr. Ouellette is currently a professor of Fine Arts, Painting and Design and Art History at St. Johns River State College’s St. Augustine campus.  Watercolors & Oils will be presented in the Lee Adams Florida Artists’ Gallery.

Jennifer Tallerico: Submerged is a collection of underwater photographs that merges the two worlds of land and water into one seamless image.  Submerging such items as violins, flowers, and even a piano, Ms. Tallerico creates surreal images filled with focus, intensity, dedication, and of course, a love of being underwater.  Based in Palatka, Florida, Ms. Tallerico is the artist behind JT Noir Studios.  She is known throughout the photography industry and the region for her unique approach to fine art photography.  With its darkly romantic, fashion-inspired aesthetics, her work as an almost literary sensibility to it.  Submerged will be presented in the Jack Mitchell Gallery.
