I enjoy hearing a word from God through others who hear His voice when our Father speaks. Other people’s messages frequently assure me that I’m following the straight and narrow path of righteousness. It is wonderful to receive a confirmation from God through others. “Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat. 7:14).
We should never think that we are the only ones that God
speaks to or operates through. I am
blessed to hear what God has to say when He speaks through others. I go to church anticipating a Word from
God. I also realize that I must have my gift of the Discerning of Spirits
fine-tuned. There may be some gristle (i.e., something told to you that is
contrary to the Word of God) in that portion of meat (the interpretation
of God’s Word by another person) which we receive. Remember, we should eat the meat and spit out
the gristle. Don’t allow people to
confuse you. If you find it necessary to
chew and chew (ponder or analyze the words from others), then get a stick of
chewing gum and chew on that.
If what someone says is questionable, read God’s Word for
yourself, even if you have to get an easier translation, and discuss with your
Pastor what you’ve heard. God will give
you the understanding to live righteously and not be deceived.
