Who Do You Trust?

You may think that the New Testament people were living in Perilous Times (see 2 Tim. 3:1 – more to say on this scripture at another time – soon); well, let me tell you that those times are here right now; just like other things have developed in our lifetimes. There were times when a loaf of bread was $1.00 (I can even recall when the loaves were longer & cheaper [less expensive]). I’m quite sure you’ve seen Birthday Cards, emails & commentaries that reminded you of the ‘Good Ole Days’.
Ecclesiastes 1:4, 9-11 (did you grab your Bible?) Some people (even the unsaved) don’t want to use the word “Recession”. They say that we’re not quite there; almost, but not quite. I guess they’re ‘speaking positively’, like the Bible teaches – that we can have ‘whatsoever’ we say (Mark 11:23).
Well, let’s go back in history just a little bit, to that era called “The Depression”. People were going through ‘perilous’ or tough times then (you can research your history).
My point is, “We, who believe in God and what He can and will do for us, need to put our trust in Him and relax (2 Tim. 1:7 thank God that we have power, love & the mind of Christ). We must continue to Trust – Believe & Receive from God. Let me tell you; He supplies all my needs {Phil.4:19} (and some of my wants too). He rewards those who keep Him first (Heb. 11:6 - you still don’t have you Bible out?).
In these last days (call them what you may), God is still in control – if we allow Him to be. We can’t fix it (and if we choose the wrong presidential candidate or don’t vote at all), and neither can they try to help fix it (inflated gas prices, health care, wars, unemployment, violence, the economy, hunger, social security etc., etc., etc.) - (now, Where Did That Come From?).
We’re all in God’s hands. I have recently been standing on Phil. 4:8. I have to keep my focus on the positive things around me; otherwise I can worry myself, and those around me, to be ‘sick & tired’. Sure, negative things are all around us (it’s in ‘The Book’, and the final chapter says, “We Win”), yet we can choose how we handle our circumstances. Just watch me live out James 2:18 NAS “But someone may well say, ‘You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works’”.
One of my works is, my ‘Trust in God’ (remind me later to talk about the new gold dollar coins). I may not be E.F. Hutton but hopefully when I talk, people will listen.
Let me hear from you. ;) How are you trusting God?www.victoriapoller.com
