Have you had the opportunity to sit somewhere that is quiet,
and then taken the time to listen to the birds sing? Have you ever listened to the different
sounds outside? Are we able to hear those
audible remembrances which we often take for granted? Can we listen to people quietly talking in
their gardens, children laughing while they play, and a lawn mower cutting
grass way off in the distance, or music playing softly in the background and be
appreciative of God’s symphony? It’s
music to one’s ears.
During these peaceful times of being still and listening, I
can reminisce about the good times when I was younger. It reminds me of what I was doing when I
heard those same sounds years ago such as going roller skating, having picnics
in the park, or going to a friend’s house for a party. It’s a very precious feeling that I get when
I think about these experiences. It’s
also during those quiet times that I can hear the voice of God without difficulty.
