Florida Theatre shows in February will be epic

Are you looking for some exciting entertainment?  Want to see some old familiar movies? Miss some of the crooners that you’ve heard long ago?  Well, you need look no longer.  February at the Florida Theatre promises to fulfill your entertainment hunger.  There’s always something exciting to do in JAX.  Don’t wait too long before you order your tickets for the following:

February 1 - 8pm — Tanya Tucker.  Country music legend Tanya Tucker's 40-year career has provided some of the biggest country music hits of each decade, including, “Blood Red and Goin’ Down,” “Would you Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone),” “What’s Your Mama’s Name,” and “Texas (When I Die).”

February 2 - 7:30pm — Adam Ant: The Anthems Tour. 
Pop icon Adam Ant is known for his massive hits: "Goody Two Shoes," "Stand and Deliver" and "Wonderful."  He will perform his landmark Kings Of The Wild Frontier album in its entirety followed by a greatest hits set. *Show rescheduled from September.

February 6 - 7pm — Civic Cinema Do The Right Thing.

February 7 - 8pm — Diana Krall.
  Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and singer, Diana Krall is the only artist to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Album chart. She is touring in support of her latest release Turn Up The Quiet.


February 8 - 8pm — Cody Jinks.  Country music singer and songwriter Cody Jinks' album I'm Not The Devil broke into the Top 5 On Billboard Country Chart and features the songs "Chase That Song," "The Way I Am," and "No Words."  Ward Davis and Sunny Sweeney will open.

Feburay 9 - 8pm — TESLA. 
Hard rock quintet TESLA debut album, Mechanical Resonance, yielded the signature anthems "Little Suzi," "Modern Day Cowboy," "Cumin’ Atcha Live," and "Gettin’ Better."  They are also well known for their hit single "Signs."

February 10 - 8pm — Little River Band with special guest Pablo Cruise. 
Little River Band top charts with the hits: “Reminiscing,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “The Night Owls,” “Take It Easy On Me,” and “Help Is on Its Way.”  Special Guest Pablo Cruise is known for his hits: “Whatcha Gonna Do?” “Love Will Find a Way,” “A Place In The Sun,” “Cool Love,” “I Want You Tonight,” and “I Go To Rio.”

February 11 - 7pm — Blues Traveler.  Jam band Blues Traveler celebrates their 30th Anniversary with a stop at the Florida Theatre! Over their 30 -year career, Blues Traveler has released 20 albums and their hits “Run Around,” “But Anyway,” and “Hook,” are radio staples.

February 13 - 8pm — The Hot Sardines. 
Eight-member jazz ensemble, The Hot Sardines, play 1920s and 30s music influenced by swing and blues.  Their songs: “Gramercy Sunset,” “Sweet Pea,” and “Some of These Days” highlight the band’s brassy horn arrangements, piano melodies and sultry vocals.

February 16 - 8pm — Paula Poundstone. 
Considered one of the country's foremost standup comedians, she is a regular panelist on NPR's #1 weekly news quiz show, Wait...Wait Don't Tell Me!  She has recorded two comedy HBO comedy specials, Cats, Cops and Stuff and Paula Poundstone Goes To Harvard.


February 17 - 7:30pm — Daniel O’Donnell. 
One of Ireland’s best loved singers, Daniel O’Donnell has gained fame in the United States with his first PBS special – The Daniel O’Donnell Show.  His many hits include "The Magic is There," "Stand Beside Me," "Give a Little Love," "The Way Dreams Are," and "I Just Wanna Dance with You."

February 18 - 8pm — Gordon Lightfoot.  Considered one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, Grammy nominated Gordon Lightfoot’s vast musical catalogue includes the hit songs: “Sundown,” “Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald,” “Rainy Day People,” “If You Could Read My Mind” and many more.

February 21 - 8pm — Rodriguez.  Rodriguez, the legendary self-taught singer-songwriter, and star of the Oscar-winning documentary, Searching for Sugarman, will perform songs from his albums Cold Fact and Coming From Reality, both of which have recently been re-released.

February 22 - 8pm — Jamey Johnson.  Grammy-nominated country artist Jamey Johnson has co-written some of the biggest country hits for artists like Trace Adkins, George Strait and Willie Nelson.  His album, That Lonesome Song, was certified platinum for 1 million in sales, and his 2010 ambitious double album, The Guitar Song, received a gold certification.

February 23 - 8pm — Air Supply. 
This Hall of Fame pop rock duo topped the charts worldwide with a string of hits like: "Making Love Out of Nothing At All," "All Out of Love," "Every Woman In the World," "The One You Love" and "Here I Am."

February 23 - 8pm — Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers (at the Ritz).  Two-time Grammy Nominated Mindi Abair brings blues rock saxophone and vocals back to mainstream music with her band, The Boneshakers.

February 24 - 3 & 8pm — C.S. Lewis.  Max McLean brings to life one of the most engaging personalities of our age and takes audiences on C.S. Lewis’ fascinating theatrical journey from vigorous debunker of faith to the most vibrant and influential Christian intellectual of the 20th Century.  Suitable for adults and children 13 and up. Children under 4 will not be admitted.

February 27 - 8pm — Michael McDonald.  This former Dobie Brothers’ singer has solo hits including: “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near),” “Sweet Freedom,” “On My Own” (with Patti LaBelle) and the Grammy-winning James Ingram duet “Yah Mo B There,” have made him one of music’s most enduring performers.
