The Ritz Theatre and Museum is proud to present a new series entitled “Artists You Should Know.” This on-going series will highlight rising
artists in a variety of musical genres including blues, jazz, and even country,
exposing Jacksonville music lovers to artists they’ll be hearing about for
years to come! Artists You Should
Know will also introduce new and diverse audiences to the LaVilla
neighborhood and Ritz Theatre and Museum, who might not have yet had the
opportunity to experience these downtown Jacksonville cultural gems firsthand. Beginning May 12th, the inaugural “Artists
You Should Know” series starts with its Summer Country Edition
featuring four of today’s hottest newcomers:
CODY WEBB – Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 8 p.m.
Singer, songwriter, musician, and touring artist Cody Webb has played hundreds of dates across the East Coast, Midwest and beyond, earning thousands of fans with his expressive tenor and deft guitar work. Recently relocated to Nashville from his native South Carolina, he's finishing work on his debut EP and has assembled a team of top music business pros for his first push onto the national scene. Led by songs including the propulsive "More Than A Little" and plaintive "My My My Girl," Cody's new EP reveals something distinctive yet undeniably at home in today's country landscape.
SANDRA LYNN – Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 8 p.m.
A California girl with a Nashville heart, Sandra Lynn is one of country music’s sweetest rising voices. After releasing a pair of upbeat singles — “Afterparty” and “Bar Hoppin’” — in 2015, Lynn returns with the playful, flirty “Hey California,” which she co-wrote with producer Dave Brainard (Brandy Clark). “I feel like this song is such a strong identity piece for me,” she says. “It represents some of my earliest influences, like the Beach Boys and Sheryl Crow, and captures my love for country music and my roots as a California girl.”
CRAIG WAYNE BOYD – Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 8 p.m.
Craig Wayne Boyd has already drawn a large and loyal following as thousands thrilled to his victory in Season 7 of The Voice. But with release of his new album, Top Shelf, Boyd goes way beyond that platform to a place that even his fans might not have anticipated. Confident delivery, upbeat personality, deep country soul, and easy charisma - this is all still there. From the buoyant “Stuck In My Head” to the dirty sound of “We Sweat,” Boyd presents himself as an artist of complex dimension, never satisfied with repeating himself, but always true to his roots.
STEPHANIE QUAYLE – Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 8 p.m.
Stephanie Quayle offers the genre a fresh sound, relatable storylines and an invigorating presence that is unmatched in today’s music scene with her new album Love the Way You See Me featuring the current single “Selfish.” Her debut single, “Drinking with Dolly,” and follow up “Winnebago,” hit Top 50 on the Billbaord Indicator radio chart with over 1 Million strems as well. Quayle made her national debuting performing “Drinking With Dolly” on “Fox & Friends” to celebrate the video hitting #1 on the CMT Music 12-Pack Countdown.
