Update: October 17, 2019
Chop Barbershop, a pub-style barbershop for all humanity, will celebrate the grand opening of its first Jacksonville shop around November of 2019. The shop will open at 935 Edgewood Avenue South in Murray Hill.
Since its founding in Tallahassee in 2015, Chop Barbershop’s pub-like atmosphere, hair for all humanity ethos and affordable prices have attracted a loyal client base. An upbeat, vintage feel combined with modern-day conveniences defines the Chop experience. Energetic tunes play throughout the day, including a wide range of tracks by performers ranging from Johnny Cash to Rancid to Blondie. Guests ages 21+ can unwind with a complimentary canned beer; soft drinks are also available.
The Murray Hill location represents Chop’s first expansion out of Tallahassee, where it operates three shops. Each location provides services such as full shaving, beard trimming, haircuts, fading and hair coloring. Services start at $10 for a beard trim; haircuts start at $14 for children, $17 for men and $30 for women.
Chop will be open seven days a week; Monday through Saturday hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with Sunday hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We are on a mission to bring back the fun family barbershop of old, while offering all the modern day conveniences of online and app booking, walk-in services and complimentary Wi-Fi, lollipops and beverages — including beer, for our 21+ clients,” said Sarah Bolinder, CEO of Chop Barbershop. “We are equally committed to diversity and the concept that anyone at any time can walk into Chop Barbershop and get a great cut for a great price.”
Chop Barbershop was founded by Steve and Sarah Bolinder, and Danny and Katie Rainey. Steve and Danny were childhood friends who reconnected through Tallahassee’s barbershop industry; their expertise, combined with Sarah’s military and legal experience and Katie’s talent for fostering a customer-first culture, propelled Chop to rapid success.
Chop Barbershop’s second Jacksonville location is slated to open at Brooklyn Place in spring 2020. For more information, visit chopbarbershop.com and like Chop Barbershop Murray Hill on Facebook.
