Let God, or take the reins?

“You may be grown, but you don’t know everything”.  All of us, at some time or another, may benefit from some good advice.

Have you ever seen an inappropriate remark, a photo, or a video on your friend’s social media page?  What do you do?  Do you hold your peace & let the Lord fight the battle?  Do you remain silent & hope that it won’t bite them in the butt later in life?  Do you “like” it because everyone else does?

Proverbs 22:6 King James Version (KJV)
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Old is just a number especially where God is concerned.  Old could be when you’re 30, or not until you’re 60 or 99, but God said that the child will not depart from the lessons that were taught to that child/young or old adult.  If my parents were still alive, they deserve the love & respect that years of wisdom & experience had provided.

So, sometimes you (as the older, wiser individual) have to let go and trust God as you remove the temptation (that person’s page or friendship) of reading and responding to hurtful, harmful detrimental posts that are no longer under your control.  Don’t worry – Be happy!

“It’s That Time”

In the meantime, while waiting for answers to my dilemma, my body didn’t know whether it was going through PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome), DMS (during menstrual syndrome) or PAWS (menopause).  Another subject we’ll cover later.  No, let’s cover it now.  A woman’s nerves are more on edge during that later time in her life; circumstances are more intolerable during that time of life, and her body feels as if it is going in one direction while she is being pulled in another direction, and she usually just wants to dig a hole, jump in, and remain undisturbed for the duration.

Women: It is possible to be victorious during times of PAWS and PMS.  It’s not easy, but it is possible.  Be aware that once a month you are going to have to try harder to be more patient, sweet, understanding, forgiving, and easygoing.  You do have the mind of Christ, and, if you have a temporary lapse of memory, you need to ask Him to bring all things back to your memory.  You must be very conscious about what comes out of your mouth.  Think before you speak, especially during these times.  Sometimes you may appear to be on tranquilizers when you speak slowly, but, if you ask Him for an extra dose of love during those times, God will guide your thoughts and your tongue.  You can do all things through Christ, which strengthens you (Phil. 4:13).  Stand on that Word!

  You’ve got to believe.

Do Something! Don’t Take Offense

What would you have done if your Pastor deleted you from his/her social friends network list?  Think about it.  "I don't believe that the Pastor would have the nerve to delete me from his friends.  Out of all the people in our church, he got rid of my name."  Well, that happened to me.

I hadn’t noticed it until my Hubby told me of one of our Pastor’s posts. Where was my notification?  What had I done to make the Pastor ‘diss me’?  I had already been his friend.  What did I do wrong?

Bishop George Davis recently wrote a book entitled, “Passing The Tests of Life” and one of the chapters deals with “Passing the test of Offense”.  I could have taken offense, shut down, pouted and may have just left the church altogether.

Come to find out, Face Book had unfriended me from my Pastor, deleted notifications from a couple of other friends, and I was not receiving notifications from my Husband either.  There was so much room to go off on a tangent, be offended and butt-hurt.

I went to the Pastor’s page and noticed that I was no longer his friend, so I requested friendship once again.  After contacting him online, I found out that He didn’t delete me and I had an understanding.  I sought first to understand, then to be understood.

If you haven’t heard from someone in a while, don’t assume that they “don’t like you any more".  Mistakes happen everywhere and it happens to all of us.  Don’t allow people, a social network or anything else to cause you to sin and fall into a trap of offense.
