Striking Up: Conversation, Performance, and Art with Phase

Painting several small works gives students the opportunity to learn
color mixing, composition, painting techniques, and work on a variety of
subjects such as landscapes, floral, or still life. Reference material will be provided, and each
student will complete four or more original paintings. Participants can sign up

Eclectic Ecology: Landscape Perspectives From Ponce De León
To Florida Man: December 20, 2019 through December 31, 2020. Florida conjures visions of a lush tropical
paradise, with vast natural resources and endless opportunities for those most
daring to try.
Striking Power: Iconoclasm in Ancient Egypt: January
31 through April 26, 2020. Striking
Power explores the history of iconoclasm in relation to ancient Egyptian
art through forty masterpieces on loan from the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Striking Power is organized by the
Brooklyn Museum of Art in collaboration with the Pulitzer Arts Foundation.
Eugène Louis Charvot: February 11, 2020 through September
28, 2020. The accompanying exhibition
will be designed to highlight and celebrate the Cummer Museum of Art &
Gardens’ extensive holdings of Eugène Louis Charvot, the largest collection of
Charvot works in the world.
Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the
Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society: June
30, 2020 through October 18, 2020. This
exhibition will present 67 masterpieces collected by John D. Rockefeller III
(1906–1978) and his wife Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller (1909–1992),
illuminating the cultures and history of Asia.
Hamilton: How The Musical Remixes History - An Evening

On Jan.6th, patrons recently celebrated the
start of 2020 with the Cummer Museum of Arts’ recent acquisition of works by
artist and pop-culture icon, Andy Warhol.
You would have loved to join the Cummer as they journeyed back to 1977,
when pant legs were big and disco ruled the world! They honored this legendary American artist
and reimagine the Terry Gallery as the famed Studio 54 club. Whether you were dripping in sequins, or chic
in vintage Halston & mink, guests were ready to ‘Boogie Down Broadway’
during an evening of glitz and glamour at “The Art of Pop: A Warhol Dinner
Party.”
All Dinner Party guests enjoyed an open bar of beer & wine; hors d’oeuvres;
themed music from DJ Nick Fresh and a few disco dancers from the Jacksonville
Dance Theatre; famed Warhol art; a gift shop full of exquisite gifts and other
trinkets, and a delicious dinner. Guests
also enjoyed a private art tour along with a signature cocktail prior to the
start of the evening. Dr. Adam Levine,
Director & CEO of the Cummer, welcomed his guests and made introductions throughout
the party.

and Lobster Salad with Pea Tendrils, Corn Shoots, Frisee, Purple Beet
Puree, Champagne and Golden Tomato Vinaigrette topped with an Edible Flower.

and Caramelized Onion. Fresh Herbs, Bacon, Gruyere and Provolone.
Mini Beef Sliders stuffed with mushroom Duxelle with Roquefort
Cheese and a Port Reduction on Buttered Brioche Bun. Roasted Stuffed Mushrooms with Spinach,
Boursin & Panko. Rosemary and
Parmesan Crinkle Fries served with ketchup.
Chocolate Fondue Station: Milk Chocolate Fondue, served with a

Jacksonville Florida is proud to have Mr. Adam M. Levine as the Director and CEO of the Cummer
Museum of Art & Gardens, as he welcomed guests to a wonderful evening (on Thursday,
January 10, 2019) at the “Artful Umami Japanese Dinner Party”. The event featured delicious oriental foods, Japanese
entertainment, festive displays and an open bar. The servers, security and staff gave
attendees the VIP treatment throughout the evening. Guests were able to visit the many, many
pieces of artwork throughout the building and the evening.
No, Mr. Levine is not the same Adam Levine who will be performing at Superbowl LIII halftime show
with the group Maroon 5, with rapper,
actor and entrepreneur - Big Boi and with rapper Travis Scott; but the newly
appointed Adam M. Levine is in place to bring more wonderful events, exhibits,
cultures and history to the Cummer Museum.
Hurricane Irma tried to destroy the lush beautiful Cummer Gardens, nonetheless,
through generous ongoing donations, and expert restoration - the
museum is flourishing and is in expectation of your next visit.
The Cummer Museum of
Art & Gardens is excited to present “Inspired
Palates: A Dinner Party Series.” This exciting series of dinners will raise
funds to aid in the reconstruction of the historic Cummer Gardens, which were
significantly impacted by Hurricane Irma. So clutch your pearls, fill your glasses, and
join the Cummer Museum for this avant-garde series of dinners that will inspire
your palate and spark your creative energies.
Mr. and Mrs. Cummer were known to be legendary hosts, and this is your chance
to join the Museum in celebration of the culture and history of the places that
inspired the beautiful gardens. The series includes three dinners, one for each
historic garden space. All Dinner Party guests will enjoy beer,
wine, hors d’oeuvres, themed music, artful moments, and a gourmet dining
experience.

La Dolce Vita: An Italian Dinner Party —
Thurs., Jan 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. Registration required by Jan 5. Experience the wonders of an Italian
soggiorno without ever leaving the city limits of Jacksonville. The evening
will offer guests an array of Italian-style experiences, including live music,
wine, and antipasti, culminating in a seated, family-style meal that will
reinforce why Italians are known for the gioie
della tavola, or “the joys of the table.” This Italian experience will
support the reconstruction of the Italian Garden.
British Invasion: An English Dinner
Party — Thurs., Feb 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. Registration required by Feb 8. Calling all anglophiles! Do you fancy a pint?
Round up some mates, dress in your British best, and join us at the Museum for
a pub crawl style evening with a classy spin. Guests will enjoy live music,
activities, beer pairings, and favorite pub cuisine! This jolly good evening
will support the reconstruction of the English Garden.
“South” Hampton: A New York Dinner Party
— Thurs., Mar 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. Registration required by Mar 8. Travel back in time to the Gatsby era in New
York’s Southampton community, where socialites were aplenty and parties were
swanky. Guests are invited to don their best wingtips, t-straps, and other
festive attire as we celebrate the era of innovation with a top secret
prohibition cocktail, live swing music, and a seated dinner. This exciting evening
will support the reconstruction of the Olmsted Garden, designed in the early
1930s by the fabled Olmsted Brothers Firm, which had ties to New York’s Central
Park.
