Jason Aldean and crew are coming to JAX town

Reigning ACM "Artist of the Decade" Jason Aldean announced details for his 2020 WE BACK TOUR launching Jan. 30 in Columbia, SC and including a stop in Jacksonville, FL at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena Feb. 1.  Named after the new lead single from his upcoming ninth studio album, 9 (Macon Music/Broken Bow Records), which was released Nov. 22, the 20-city trek will span across the US through March.  For the first leg of the tour, the multi-Platinum entertainer has tapped direct support Morgan Wallen, Riley Green and Dee Jay Silver.  Live Nation is the national tour promoter and Citi is the official presale credit card of the 2020 WE BACK TOUR.

After almost 15 years at the top of his format, three-time ACM “Entertainer of the Year" Jason Aldean has seen trends come and go.  He's helped bring a few out of the shadows, like a Country-music Columbus making the mainstream’s first contact with hard rock (“Hicktown”), hip-hop (“Dirt Road Anthem”) and R&B (“Burnin’ It Down”).  But after all that time, he continues to hold his ground making modern albums with an old-school soul - with the upcoming release of his ninth studio album 9 as the album's fiery lead single “We Back” rounds out the first-released songs, and “in characteristic Aldean fashion, it explodes into a hard-rock country anthem” (Rolling Stone).  As a dominant force on the charts, Aldean has scored 23 No. Ones at radio and is the only Country act in history to top the all-genre Billboard 200 four times (in a row, no less), while racking up 15 billion streams and more than 18 million albums sold along the way.

Morgan Wallen’s debut album “If I Know Me” (Big Loud Records) delivered back-to-back Platinum-certified No. Ones; “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line, the multi-week chart-ruler “Whiskey Glasses,” the GOLD-certified lead “The Way I Talk” and current single, “Chasin’ You.”  With over one billion total streams to his credit, he received his first-ever CMA Awards nomination for New Artist of the Year, after earning a CMT "Breakthrough Video of the Year” award nomination for “Whiskey Glasses.”  The breakout star was chosen as a MusicRow 2019 "Next Big Thing" artist, spotlighted in CMT’s Listen Up “18 for 2018” class, and named a 2018 Taste of Country “Riser" among other accolades.  Wallen has co-penned hits for Jason Aldean (Platinum-certified multi-week No. One “You Make It Easy”), Kane Brown, A Thousand Horses and Dustin Lynch, and garnered critical acclaim for his cover of Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up,” while on-fire Diplo collaboration, “Heartless” continues to gain momentum nationwide.

Riley Green will release his full-length debut album DIFFERENT ‘ROUND HERE (BMLG Records) Sep. 20, which has already produced the No. One hit “There Was This Girl.” Highlighting his Southern roots and relatability, he co-wrote each track offering a perspective Rolling Stone describes as “drinks-in-the-air Nineties country at an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate." The 14-track project was recorded alongside producer Dann Huff and executive producer Jimmy Harnen features his new single “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Die.” Green has been named an “Artist To Watch” by Rolling Stone Country, Taste of Country, Whiskey Riff, Sounds Like Nashville and iHeartRadio and selected as a CMT “Listen Up Artist” as well as MusicRow’s  2019 “Next Big Things.”  For more information on Aldean's new music and upcoming tour dates, visit www.JasonAldean.com.

Charlie Daniels Band and: Lynyrd Skynyrd highlight Labor Day Concert

Update Aug. 26, 2018: Guitarist Ed King, who co-wrote "Sweet Home Alabama", dead at 68 years young.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Bold Events, and SMG Jacksonville are proud to announce the latest additions to the star-studded stadium show set for Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.  The Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band and Blackberry Smoke will kick off the music festival ahead of co-headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jason Aldean and Kid Rock.  In addition to performances, the all-day, all-night event will also feature food trucks, interactive games and more.

From his Dove Award winning gospel albums to his genre-defining Southern rock anthems, few artists have left a more indelible mark on America’s musical landscape than Charlie Daniels.  He began his career playing bluegrass music with the Misty Mountain Boys.  After moving to Nashville in 1967, he began making a name for himself as a songwriter, session musician and producer.  His unique voice as an artist emerged as Daniels recorded his self-titled solo album in 1970 for Capitol Records.  Two years later he formed the Charlie Daniels Band, and the group scored its first hit with their single "Uneasy Rider." Since then the band has populated radio with hits including "Long Haired Country Boy," "The South's Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and their signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979, as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.

Since their start in 1972, the Marshall Tucker Band has won over fans with their definitive blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country and gospel.  Along the way, the band has recorded 22 studio albums, three DVDs, three live albums and many compilations.  With hit singles like "Heard It In a Love Song," "Fire On The Mountain," "Can't You See," and "Take The Highway," The Marshall Tucker Band earned seven gold and three platinum albums while they were on the Capricorn Records label.  During the 90's, the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard's country chart and one on Billboard's gospel chart.  Today, the band records on its own RAMBLIN’ RECORDS Label (distributed by Sony/RED) and continues to release new and previously unreleased material.  More than 40 years after forming, The Marshall Tucker Band is still led by founding member and lead singer Doug Gray and continues to tour, performing more than 130 live dates each year.

Since emerging from Atlanta in the early 2000s, Blackberry Smoke—vocalist/lead guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist/vocalist Paul Jackson, bassist/vocalist Richard Turner, drummer Brit Turner and keyboardist Brandon Still—have become known for a singular sound indebted to classic rock, blues, country and folk.  They’ve produced two chart-topping country albums, including: 2015’s “Holding All The Roses” and “Like An Arrow” the following year.  “Find A Light,” Blackberry Smoke’s sixth studio album was released in April 2018.

The stadium show will be a special homecoming for Lynyrd Skynyrd as the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers legacy began over 40 years ago in Northeast Florida.  Their two-year Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour, produced by Live Nation, kicked off on May 4 in West Palm Beach, Fla. at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre.  The TIAA Bank Field concert is being organized by Jaguars and Bold events in conjunction with the City of Jacksonville and stadium manager SMG.
