‘Green Day’ reschedules from Aug 2020

Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer, three of the biggest acts in rock music, are gearing up to get back on the road this summer. “The Hella Mega Tour”, their U.S. headlining stadium run, kicks off with new 2021 dates beginning July 24 in Dallas, TX. and will be at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, FL. on July 31, 2021. Produced by Live Nation, the 21-city North American outing will bring the bands to some of the most renowned stadiums including Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field, Citi Field, Fenway Park, and more, before wrapping up September 6 in Seattle, WA.  The Interrupters will appear as special guests on the tour.

Five-time Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Green Day unleash their brand-new song “Pollyanna”. Formed in 1986 in Berkeley, CA, Green Day is one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, with more than 70 million records sold worldwide and 10 billion cumulative audio/visual streams. Their 1994 breakout album Dookie, which sold over 10 million and achieved diamond status, is widely credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock, catapulting a career-long run of #1 hit singles. Entertainment Weekly calls Green Day, “The most influential band of their generation,” while Rolling Stone attests, “Green Day have inspired more young bands to start than any act this side of KISS, and that doesn't seem to be changing.” In 2004, Green Day released the rock opera American Idiot which captured the nation’s attention, selling more than 7 million copies in the U.S. alone and taking home the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Mojo declared “It's exhilarating stuff, the kind of record that sets new parameters as to what is possible from a punk rock'n'roll band in the 21st century.” In 2010, a stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway to critical and commercial acclaim.  Released last year, Green Day’s thirteenth studio album Father Of All... (Reprise/Warner Records) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Album Sales Chart and #1 in both the U.K. and Australia. Pitchfork declared, “Green Day’s most fetching and youthful songs in ages. Multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated Fall Out Boy most recently released the single “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” ft. Wyclef Jean from their November 2019 record Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die - Volume Two. The song marked the band’s first new music since the August 2018 release of the three-song Lake Effect Kid EP, a love letter to their hometown city of Chicago that featured the full version of the band’s previously unreleased title track demo along with two new songs “City in A Garden” and “Super Fade.” In January 2019, Fall Out Boy was featured on the gold-certified track “I’ve Been Waiting,” a collaboration from Lil Peep and iLoveMakonnen. Fall Out Boy’s seventh studio album M A N I A debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in January 2018 and garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album. Their worldwide tour in support of the record included a hometown show at Wrigley Field. The Monster Jam Pit Party makes its return to Jacksonville on Saturday, March 6 with limited capacity and enhanced safety measures implemented. At the Monster Jam Pit Party, you can see the massive trucks up close, watch live pre-race interviews and participate in Q&A’s with the drivers, get pre-signed autograph cards, take pictures, and enjoy other family-friendly fun. Face covering, social distancing, entry screening and other rules apply.  Capacity and activities are limited based on event, venue and local authorities’ guidelines, which are subject to change at any time.

Jacksonville fans will witness a fierce battle for the event championship with each skilled Monster Jam athlete tearing up the dirt with gravity-defying feats in 12,000-pound Monster Jam trucks going head-to-head for points in Freestyle, the Skills Challenge and Racing competitions.  Plus, fans can become part of the action by voting for the winner in the Skills Challenge and Freestyle competitions via real-time, in-stadium fan voting on their smartphones.

The all-star truck lineup marks the first time in regular competition that the three Anderson siblings will battle against each other in the same Monster Jam event: the legendary Grave Digger^® will be driven by Krysten; fan-favorite Adam trades his black and green wrecking machine for Megalodon^®, the truck that redefined the phrase “jumping the shark” and set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ title for the most monster trucks jumped by a monster truck; and in a limited-time, special appearance, Ryan gets behind the wheel of Bakugan Dragonoid™.

World Champion U.S. Women’s National Team finish 2019 in JAX

The final two matches of the 2019 schedule for the U.S. Women’s National Team have been confirmed and they will bring the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions to Columbus, Ohio to face Sweden on Nov. 7 at MAPFRE Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET on FS1 & TUDN) and Jacksonville, Fla. to face Costa Rica on Nov. 10 at TIAA Bank Field (8 p.m. ET on ESPN2 & TUDN).

Heading into its final two Victory Tour matches on Oct. 3 and 6 against Korea Republic in Charlotte, N.C. and Chicago, respectively, the USA has a record of 15-1-2 in 2019, losing only to France in the first match of the year.  The U.S. Women are currently on a 14-game winning streak, which of course includes the triumphant seven-game run at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and will finish 2019 having played 22 total matches.

The meeting with Sweden, which is ranked sixth in the world after its third-place finish at the World Cup this summer, comes less than five months after the teams met in the final Group F match at the Women’s World Cup in Reims, France, a 2-0 victory for the Americans on goals from Lindsey Horan and a Sweden own goal that was created by Tobin Heath.  Sweden has begun its qualifying for the 2021 UEFA Women’s Euro, to be staged in England, downing Latvia 4-1 in the first game of Group F for both countries.

The USA has faced Costa Rica 14 times, all victories, with nine of those games coming in Concacaf qualifying competitions. The USA has faced Costa Rica in all four of the Concacaf Olympic Qualifying tournaments that have been held, meaning the countries are likely opponents in the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be staged early next year.

The U.S. Women also have a long history in Jacksonville, dating back to 1996, but this will be just the fourth match played at what is now TIAA Bank Stadium. The USA last visited Jacksonville in April 2018 for a 4-0 victory against Mexico.
The match in Jacksonville will conclude the 35th year of international competition for the U.S. Women’s National Team.

‘Danny Gokey: The Hope Encounter” comes to JAX

Grammy® nominee, Dove Award winner, and Capitol recording artist, Danny Gokey is gearing up for his first-ever headline tour with this fall’s The Hope Encounter.  Also featuring Grammy® nominee Tauren Wells and breakout artist Riley Clemmons, the tour will hit 29 markets across the country, including Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts on October 6, 2018.  Produced by general market powerhouse Outback Concerts, the tour will play mostly theaters and performing arts centers.

Riley Clemmons is an 18-year-old, Nashville-based singer/songwriter signed to Capitol Christian Music Group.  Her debut single, “Broken Prayers,” skyrocketed at radio upon its release in early 2018 and the music video earned over a million views on YouTube in less than two months.  The single has now crossed over ten million global streams.  Most recently, Riley was featured on the song and music video for Social Club Misfit’s radio single “Misfit Anthem” and mainstream DJ, Tritonal’s “Out My Mind.”  Her upcoming full-length debut album released August 3, 2018.

Charlie Daniels Band and: Lynyrd Skynyrd highlight Labor Day Concert

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Bold Events, and SMG Jacksonville are proud to announce the latest additions to the star-studded stadium show set for Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.  The Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band and Blackberry Smoke will kick off the music festival ahead of co-headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jason Aldean and Kid Rock.  In addition to performances, the all-day, all-night event will also feature food trucks, interactive games and more.

From his Dove Award winning gospel albums to his genre-defining Southern rock anthems, few artists have left a more indelible mark on America’s musical landscape than Charlie Daniels.  He began his career playing bluegrass music with the Misty Mountain Boys.  After moving to Nashville in 1967, he began making a name for himself as a songwriter, session musician and producer.  His unique voice as an artist emerged as Daniels recorded his self-titled solo album in 1970 for Capitol Records.  Two years later he formed the Charlie Daniels Band, and the group scored its first hit with their single "Uneasy Rider." Since then the band has populated radio with hits including "Long Haired Country Boy," "The South's Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and their signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979, as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.

Since their start in 1972, the Marshall Tucker Band has won over fans with their definitive blend of rock, rhythm & blues, jazz, country and gospel.  Along the way, the band has recorded 22 studio albums, three DVDs, three live albums and many compilations.  With hit singles like "Heard It In a Love Song," "Fire On The Mountain," "Can't You See," and "Take The Highway," The Marshall Tucker Band earned seven gold and three platinum albums while they were on the Capricorn Records label.  During the 90's, the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard's country chart and one on Billboard's gospel chart.  Today, the band records on its own RAMBLIN’ RECORDS Label (distributed by Sony/RED) and continues to release new and previously unreleased material.  More than 40 years after forming, The Marshall Tucker Band is still led by founding member and lead singer Doug Gray and continues to tour, performing more than 130 live dates each year.

Since emerging from Atlanta in the early 2000s, Blackberry Smoke—vocalist/lead guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist/vocalist Paul Jackson, bassist/vocalist Richard Turner, drummer Brit Turner and keyboardist Brandon Still—have become known for a singular sound indebted to classic rock, blues, country and folk.  They’ve produced two chart-topping country albums, including: 2015’s “Holding All The Roses” and “Like An Arrow” the following year.  “Find A Light,” Blackberry Smoke’s sixth studio album was released in April 2018.

The stadium show will be a special homecoming for Lynyrd Skynyrd as the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers legacy began over 40 years ago in Northeast Florida.  Their two-year Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour, produced by Live Nation, kicked off on May 4 in West Palm Beach, Fla. at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre.  The TIAA Bank Field concert is being organized by Jaguars and Bold events in conjunction with the City of Jacksonville and stadium manager SMG.

‘Corteo’ Cirque du Soleil will be in JAX for a few days

“Corteo” is the latest and one of the best-loved Cirque du Soleil’s arena productions, will embark on a new journey throughout North America.  The show will visit Jacksonville at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena for a limited run of seven performances. This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005.  Since then, the show has been a great success and has amazed 8 million people in 64 cities in 19 countries on four continents.

“Corteo”, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown.  The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us.  The music turns lyrical and playful carrying Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality

The concept and disposition of the stage bring the audience in a theatrical atmosphere like never seen before in Cirque du Soleil arena shows.  The set curtains, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and the central curtains, which were hand painted, give a grandiose feel to the stage.  This sets the tone for the poetry of Corteo.  The cast of Corteo includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from all around the world.
