Tests going through a COVID pandemic

Well, God has done “IT” (He does a lot) once again. If you’ve read my previous two testimonies (Health care during a COVID-19 pandemic & Part II - Health care during a COVID-19 pandemic), you will note that I’ve been going through hell and I wasn’t about to stay there.  My last bout with the devil was as if I was being “punk’d” by him. I had to get a full “Skeletal Survey PTV” which is a series of X-rays from my head to my feet (26 films in all). It took an hour and a half. Let me take a moment to thank all who prayed for my healing and recovery without asking a lot of questions.

As some of you might know, an Oncologist specializes with your blood, and is also associated with cancer related matters.  Sure, the enemy tried to put fear in my mind, but I’ve been taught not to allow the devil have any power over me.

I believe that God is continually with us as we go through unfamiliar territory in order to be a blessing to others who may need help in building their faith; just as He did with Job in the Bible.

As it stands, I’m slowly gaining my weight, and overcoming some minor equilibrium issues. The doctor will see me again in December to make sure my numbers continue to be positive and hopefully he’s not trying to maintain a paycheck from me. I’ll be going back to the gym real soon, as I continue to live my life through this 2020 Coronavirus pandemic and beyond. #TBR and #FollowMeAsIFollowChrist.

I also need to give God the glory for supplying all my needs according to all that He possesses. We received a portion of the hospital bills, lab results and numerous doctors. God blessed my husband to have served in the military and have great insurance. I’m grateful that my mature age also allots me to collect the monies that I earned through social security. God creates many avenues of blessing, yet He is our source.

Van went with me to the Oncologist (October 20, 2020) to get the results of the Bone Marrow Biopsy, the urine test (I had to collect my urine for a full 24 hours - I had over a gallon and a half to take to the lab), Numerous blood tests, and a couple of consultations.

Call me crazy, but every time I see a butterfly cross my path, I praise and thank my God for LIFE!  Been doing that for many, many years and will continue to appreciate God speaking to me in this manner. OBTW, the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to go on and my bubble of protection remains steadfast and unmovable.

Testimony of “Waiting on the Lord”

"YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK – Posted Tue 5/18/2010 5:01 AM, from BTW email scripture.
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..."      Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
The thoughts of man help determine his course in life.  If he thinks of himself as unsuccessful, incapable, and beneath others, he will behave in that manner and manifest failure in his life.
God wants the best for you, but He has given you the power to decide the course of your life. Do you have what you want?  If not, what are you saying?  Change your thoughts; change your life.
You were Born to Win! Faith Christian Center, Bishop George L. and Pastor April R. Davis, 8985 Lone Star Road,
Jacksonville, FL 32211,
(904) 725-3636.

I started writing for “The Examiner.com” on September 23, 2009 (I remember the date because I keep my important paperwork filed away).  Usually I get paid according to the number of articles that I post weekly, the number of times and duration that people come to visit my column, and if the person subscribes to receive email notifications when I post new articles.  All of this adds up to about $.01 per item.  There is an extra incentive of $1.00 if the article is ‘local’ and another $25.00 if someone is recommended by me.  In order for me to make a paycheck, I must accumulate $25.00 within a months’ time.  It’s not “fast money”, but it’s what I enjoy doing.

2015 Update: Things have changed and Examiner.com is not paying as much, but writing there is still my calling.  F.C.C. is now called “Impact Church”.

Yesterday, May 19, 2010, I posted an article entitled: “Oil Spill (Gulf of Mexico) clean-up solution 2010” and the response has been phenomenal.  God has blessed me to achieve a wonderful readership following and it hasn’t been easy, but through perseverance, it finally paid off.

Today, May 20, 2010, I went to thank the person who gave me the lead on the story and to take a look at my stats.  Well, today I’ve made more money in one day than I make in one month.  Earnings for yesterday alone were $29.03.  Total Subscribers = 47; Comments in last 7 days = 37; my page views = 3,204; Jacksonville average = 26, and Religion & Spiritually average = 17.

The stats for April were: my page views = 2,014; Jacksonville average = 478; Religion & Spirituality average = 492.  Total earnings for the month was $18.58 minus incentives.

As of today (5/20/10): my page views are 3,391; Jacksonville average = 56; Religion & Spirituality = 51 and my earnings are $30.80.  Praise Jehovah Jireh for He gets the glory and honor.  Amen.

The thought for the day that Faith Christian Center sent spoke directly to me and confirmed what I’ve been doing.  I’ve thought of my writing as being successful and the fruition of my goals is in manifestation.  TBR!!!  Trust – Believe – Receive; that’s what faith is all about.  You’ve got to believe it before you see it.  Hebrews 11:1 (King James Version) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Don’t give up on your dreams.  You’ve got to “Believe In Yourself” and keep on Believing.

“Listen & Do”

It had been six years since I’d had a vacation, and finally, I had the opportunity to go on one.  I forgot how beautiful Arizona and southern New Mexico could be.  Everywhere you look there are mountains in the background.  At night the sky cascades with millions of lights, bright and clear to the eye.  My bus ride was a wonderful way to appreciate the beauty that God has given us, and it also afforded some time to catch up on much-needed rest.

I asked the Lord if He would grant me some time alone and not have me witness (strike up a conversation) with anyone on the trip to Phoenix.  God does have a sense of humor.  He sat me a couple of seats away from some guy reading, “Divine Revelation of Hell?”  I immediately wanted to inquire about his reading material, but I did ask to be to myself.  I prayed that God would send another laborer.  I was tired, but I started feeling a little guilty also.  I witness at work, at the gym, and at church; why couldn’t I share my faith now?  Besides, I had homework to catch up on (I was able to take a couple of college courses), and besides, I was on a mini vacation.  So, I kept to myself.

Bus terminals are sometimes cold and unfriendly places.  There are many different classes of people taking buses, different from those who hang around airports, yet we’re all God’s children—His creations.  He desires all to come to repentance and eventually to “come home.”  Put it like this—if you are not saved and filled with the Holy Ghost…

“Don’t Tell Me to ‘Go Through’—Show Me How to ‘Get Through’ ”

God is also blessing others whom I know.  A couple that we knew overseas returned to the states and had a wonderful praise report.  They have a new home, she has a prosperous new job, and he retired from the Army and received salvation.  One son went into the military, and their daughter successfully graduated from high school.  You might not think this to be much, but you had to know what they had gone through earlier to appreciate where they are now.  Theirs was a real spiritual Cinderella story.  My heart was jumping with joy for them.  I was overjoyed, and the whole time, yes, the devil was in my ear taunting me about my own journey through life.  I had to bind up the enemy in the name of Jesus.  I had to get rid of the thoughts of, “Maybe you’re going crazy, nobody feels the way you do while you’re going through these tough times”.  Wrong, Mr. Devil, I am fine.  I am in Christ and all is well with my soul.  God will get the glory out of all of this.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (I Cor. 10:13).  That verse lets us know that we are going to be tempted in this life here on earth.  We are required to go through much in order to receive much.  We are sometimes the strong ones who can help someone else to overcome difficulties that may befall them, and that’s why we go through this or that thing.
Sometimes people want you to believe and trust God without telling you how God has gotten them through a particular situation.  We can’t always just pray and expect instant results.  Sometimes we have to do something in order to reap the blessings of God.  Remember, He’s not up in heaven with a magic wand waiting for us to pray and for Him to zap it and make it better.  Read James 2:14-26.  Here, God’s word talks about using our faith to work through some things.  It’s not just our words but also our actions that matter to God as evidenced in the following verses: “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?” (Jas. 2:14), and “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (Jas.2:20).

Moving On Up With Our Lord

As former Military members, we are use to relocating and within a few months, moving into a new home – but not this time.  I know women like details, yet I’ll try to be brief.

A few years after our military retirement, my husband (Van) and I decided to move closer to family from Clovis, New Mexico to Jacksonville, Florida.  It took a lot of getting use to; nonetheless, we arrived in our 27ft. RV (Recreational Vehicle) back in September 2007.

The RV was fine for my hubby, me and a small dog, but when you add a Daughter, my Grandbaby and another dog – things got a little tight.  God blessed us with this house on wheels, yet imagine 3 adults, a baby and 2 dogs in a small confined space.  My second book (Bent But Not Broken) was birthed while in that RV.

Our house in NM wouldn’t sell and had gone into “Short Sale”.  Van had his military retirement, but no work offers from the applications that had been submitted.  He was receiving a couple months pay from a previous position, and the money was going down.  It looked bleak.  Finally, God moved on our behalf and his Miracle Position came through.

Did I forget to mention that we were paying for a house in NM, paying RV rental lot fees and household goods storage fees on all our furniture here in Florida.  Lots of money was going out and more bills than paycheck.

We are strong believers in what God can & will do for us despite our time restrictions.  Have you ever NOT wanted to come home because of the way things are at home?  Not emotional but physical.  And don’t tell me we should have been grateful for a roof over our heads.  During Tropical Storm Faye, the RV had some leaking issues and needless to say the wind created some serious concerns.  Meanwhile the house in NM finally sold, although way below loan value.  The second mortgage (not a smart decision) is still being paid back.

We needed some relief until our needs were met. So, the Spirit of the Lord suggested that Van find a place for rent.  So, in November of 2009, we all moved (except for one dog) into a beautiful 3 bedroom home.  Home ownership was our desire but because of the “Short Sale”, home ownership was not possible at that time.  The rental was gorgeous and we could get rid of the storage bill and the RV space rental.  We have always been givers, so we donated the RV to a church in Georgia.  It’s amazing how God’s supply comes when necessary.  Sure you may have to wait, but the blessings are assured.

The entire time that we’ve been in Florida has not been ‘sunshine and lollipops’.  We’ve had sickness and death in the family and ‘Florida Children and Family Services’ continues to drag their feet; but, through it all, we NEVER stopped loving each other or loving God.  He has been with us every step of the way.  I’ve always signed my emails and certain correspondence with “TBR” (Trust, Believe, Receive), and we chose to remain faithful despite what it looked like in the natural.  So many blessings have come upon our family, but I promised that I would keep this post short.

On September 29, 2012, Van and I signed papers on our new 4 bedroom home.  We can once again, enjoy the pride and financial blessings of owning a home.  The scriptures say, “Wait upon the Lord”, “Rejoice in the Lord Always”, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”.  We kept God first and foremost in our lives and we allowed Him to lead us to our perfect blessing.  TBR!!!
